Can Latanoprost Cause Subconjunctival Hemorrhage?
Question: I have bleeding in the left area of my eye. I noticed it this morning for the first time. No pain or blurry vision at this time Taking latanoprost for glaucoma. I am 70 years old. What is the cause of the bleeding? Treatment? Do I need immediate medical intervention? Thank you. YYYY@YYYY

I am sorry to hear that you noticed bleeding from your left eye this morning. This is due to the eye drops. I would recommend using pressure on the eye or a cold compress to help reduce the bleeding. If you are taking aspirin for heart health it will also increase your risk of bleeding and may contribute to the bleeding. For safety sake I recommend that you call your ophthalmologist just to inform them of the bleeding and see if that have any additional recommendations.
