Brief Answer:
no known interactions

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Actalin is a combination vitamins, minerals, herbs, amino acids and MSM.

One of the ingredients is iodine which is involved in the production of thyroid hormone.
The bovine powder may also contain the hormone replacement though there are not a lot of medical studies.

There are no known interactions but there is the potential risk, if the bovine does contain thyroid hormones, that your levels of thyroid hormone may rise to higher than expected levels.

If your thyroid hormone status is being monitored by your doctor then this may not be a problem because your medication can be adjusted.

It would be best to let your doctor know that you are using it so he or she can watch for any unknown complications.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Was on Armour for over 30 yrs. due to goiter. with no problems till I couldn't get 2 gr. an more. I started taking 1gr. Twice a day. After 6mo. I started having problems with my heart and couldn't walk across the room without a breath stopping pain in my chest. No energy. Not connecting it to my thyroid I had EKG done and showed problem. Went to heart Dr. They did a Cather don to check my heart which was fine. I still was dealing with the pain in my chest. I started tracing back to when it started and bingo! It was when I changed dose to 1gr. Twice a day on Armor. Whent to family Dr. And had blood work done T3 T4 and Tsh and turns out this seems to be the problem. One Dr. at the office said take half my dose the other Dr. said take dose plus half. I said its time for a specialist! I saw a specialist and he did blood work and a ultra sound ( where they took at the thyroid I'm guessing for goiter ect. I only have 1/2 of my thyroid. Where did the other 1/2 go! I did have all my thyroid at on time. The specialist changed my dose to Mon.-Fri skip Sat. and Sun. It didn't seem to change anything! I heard about Actalin on TV. (The news) and ordered it. I took Actalin for about 3 weeks. This was befoe I went to the Dr. For another another blood work up.
My leg cramps stopped and my joints stopped hurting and I had more energy and my thinking wasn't so foggy! Not sure if it was from the Actalin but it was the only change I had made. Went off it for the Doctor to get a true thyroid count. He started me on Synthroid which I've been taking for about two weeks now and still have leg cramps and joint pain and feel foggy. I'd like to know if it is possible it was the Actalin that helped with the joints, cramps, energy, and foggy brain? There just isn't in my opinion any good endocrinologist around here that has helped me yet.

Brief Answer:
possible if only change made

Detailed Answer:
HI

Sorry about the late reply

If the actalin was the only change then it is possible that it is responsible.

It may be possible , as mentioned to use both of them concurrently once the thyroid levels do not rise too high. If this occurs then the meds can be adjusted.

IF you are having issues with your endocrinologist, it is possible that your GP may be able to refer you to another

Please feel free to ask anything else
