As Lifestyle Gets More Intense A Lot More People Drink

Question: As lifestyle gets more intense a lot more people drink alcohol. I know that the best thing is that do not drink and drive. However though if it happens and you drink and you do not have a means of going home other than your car what is the best way to sober up fast and be a safe driver. I bought a BAC analyser but i observed that a score of 1.0 BAC MAY TAKE UP a long time to sober which may be tempting to drive. Is there a change to drop a BAC reading from around 1.0 to 0.3 within 30-40 minutes so it is safe to drive. Off course I am not talking about fooling the test but sober properly. Please note in case you do not understand the BAC units please tell me the units you understand to translate in.

Thanks for your time Christis

Brief Answer:
Allowing body to process is the only option

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns about drink and drive.

On the current date there is no method to expedite the metabolism of alcohol in any manner.

Generally our body metabolises/removes around one standard unit per hour from the system and there is nothing which can fasten this process. I understand that it is life is very precious and nobody should attempt driving under the influence of alcohol and avoiding drinking is the ideal situation.

In case avoidance to alcohol is not possible waiting for BAC to drop under permissible limits is only option.

I hope this answers you.

Thank you for your thorough answers. Do you happen to know what is the BAC drop of an average male per hour?

Brief Answer:
0.16 per hour

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up.

Generally men metabolise alcohol at slightly faster than women and an average men drops his blood alcohol concentration by 0.016 percent. In your terms (you mentioned BAC as mg of alcohol per ml) it drops 0.16 per hour. For example if your BAC is 1.0 it will take four hours to approach legal limits (read 0.3).

I hope this answers you further.
