Are There Ways To View Very Mild Stress Incontinence And Intermittent Brown Discharge?

default
Posted on Wed, 17 Feb 2021
Question: I have stress incontinence, very mild. But I have noticed some brownish red in my panty liner, does not happen every day, only occasionally. No other symptoms. I take BP meds, low dose aspirin, and tamoxifen for DCIS two years ago.

Brief Answer:
different possible causes

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Unfortunately brown discharge in the liner is usually related to blood either from the urinary tract or genital tract.

In many cases, it may not mean that there is any significant change present, most persons are fine but needs to be assessed.

To determine whether it is coming from the urinary tract or genital tract, you would at least need a urinary sample to be assessed. Your doctor can determine if there is any blood in the urine (though sometimes the urine can pick up blood as it passes via the vaginal area).

Your doctor may suggest imaging (eg ultrasound) of the uterus and other genital organs. Possibly the urinary tract if blood from this source.

As mentioned, in many persons it is due to a benign (not dangerous ) cause, but you should be checked just to make sure

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
