There is no scientifically proven study that it causes cancer. Evidence based information only says that it can cause allergic reaction.to scalp but cancer isn't documented.

There are a couple.of ingredients which are thought to be dangerous but no study proves them to be. And reliable companies are avoiding harmful substances.

So in short usually this liquid is safe. Always product of a well established trusted maker should be preferred everything should stay fine.
