Are Soreness On The Head And Tinnitus In The Left Ear After Injury Something Worrisome?
Question: This morning about 8 a.m. I hit the top of my head hard against a shelf in my laundry room as I was standing up. I didn't lose consciousness or experience nausea etc... I immediately put an ice pack on my head and took two ibuprofen and seemed fine However, a few hours ago, I began experiencing severe ringing in my left ear. I have a mild form of tinnitus due to jaw issues, but this seemed to really worsen it. I don't have a bump on my head, but it still feels a bit sore. I'm not sure whether to go to the ER or not. Again, I don't feel nauseous. I don't have blurred vision or anything else -- and it's 10 hours later. Just the ringing in my ears and soreness where I hit my head. What do you suggest? Thank you.

Thank you, that’s a great relief. This morning I have no symptoms at all except for the strong tinnitus in my left ear. As I noted, I usually have a little tinnitus because of my jaw, but now it’s very pronounced. Will it subside in the next few days? Is this normal?
