default
Posted on Fri, 26 Aug 2016
Question: My husband had a bad headache & a MRI & CAT scan showed bleeding the brain which now has stopped.
However, he has had severe hiccups for three days & now is running a fever of 101. Is this a sign of some
other problem?

Brief Answer:
Fever needs to be evaluated further.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Hiccups may be related to brain damage from different causes and chlorpromazine should stop it.

Fever instead, is necessary to be evaluated further as a symptom of possible infection.

Lungs, airways, urinary tract, infection etc. are necessary to be considered as possible causes of the fever.

Blood and urine tests, chest x-rays are necessary for this purpose.

Please discuss with your husband's Doctor about getting evaluated further about these various sources of fever.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
