Question: A week ago I had itchiness on lower leg (back of calf) it has gotten worse and now the itchiness as spread to lower thigh. Upon inspection there is a reddish rash present. Skin warm to touch and tender now (originally not) not sure if thats due to all the scratching. I tried Benadryl and Cortizone cream does not help.

Seems like a dermatitis. I suggest you to use a moisturizer frequently. In addition I suggest you to use a topical steroid e.g either mometasone furoate or triamcinolone acetonide cream. You may take an oral antihistamine e.g cetirizine 10mg tablet once a day for a few days.
