Brief Answer:
Can be development of hernia, investigations to find cause/rule out cancer

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Feeling something in stomach 3 days ago can be due to herniation which is known to occur in chronic constipation. The repeated straining can instigate or enhance the herniation. This is difficult to find out in initial stages as it is small. Please put a flat of palm on the area of pain or where you felt the pop and cough hard. Feel if something is bulging or pushing out. And let me know.

High resolution ultrasonography of the abdominal wall may help further as well as the clinical examination by a Doctor, preferably a General Surgeon. Herniation can give you a feeling of something moving in abdominal wall or the really moving intestine secondary to constipation or its presence in hernia.

Constipation of 3 years at your age should be thoroughly investigated by colonoscopy, CT scan of abdomen and tests of stool and blood - thyroid functions and for diabetes.
This will also help to rule out cancer of the bowel.

I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

i do not have insurance to get the tests done, I have heard of a home screening for colon cancer, do you think that would help me rule that out?

Brief Answer:
Surely yes. Please get these done.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Okay, no insurance is a problem. Surely you can get the do-at-home fecal blood test kits and see whether positive or not. Ask the Pharmacy about availability.

I hope you do not have a history of black stool or blood in stool.
