Hiccough is a spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm that separates chest from abdomen. It usually originates from the stomach. Indigestion, gaseous distension etc can cause it. A sudden catching sensation in the lower chest with a spasmodic voice and a discomfort in the site are the symptoms. With Best wishes,

Hello and welcome to HCM,
As you have mentioned that ultrasound shows an enlarged liver.
The enlarged liver wall cause pain on leftupperabdomen and not on left side.
Further you need to take up liver function tests to know the status of liver functions.
Infection, inflammation or growth in the liver can cause its enlargement.
You need to consult your physician for examination and investigations.

Leftupper quadrant (LUQ) pain can originate from the chest, abdomen, diaphragm/peritoneum or from general 'medical' causes. Note that intra-abdominal organs may not localise pain accurately and diaphragmatic pain can be referred to the shoulder tip
