Hi and thanks for the query,
What you describe arise generally due to excessive gas in the stomach, chronic constipation, certain diets especially when low in vegetables and fibres, excessive growth of some parasites, dysmotility of intestines and peptic ulcer disease. You might to consult your primary care physician for a complete clinical review and management. Kind regards. Bain LE, MD.
Hi.. I woke up at night and could hardly breathe for half a minute... There was some belch I spat out shortly. After that i was ok. I'm 33, no heart problems

I have studied your case.
It looks like there can be respiratory obstruction which lead to sudden breathlessness .
Reasons for it could be acute asthma, foreign body obstruction, obstruction due to respiratory paralysis.
You may need clinical examination , .Asthamatic episodes are relived by inhalers.for respiratory paralysis you need investigation.
