Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain With Shortness Of Breath And Excessive Belching

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jan 2016
Question: Hello, I've been having chest pains mainly under my left breastbone but sometimes under my right for about a month. I had a normal EKG and recent CBC with normal bloodwork. I am now having shortness of breath. Exercise 4-5x a week with no pain or worse shortness of breath. Is acid reflux/ gastrointestinal issues still in line with shortness of breath? I have no acid taste. Lots of belching. Some pains under left ribs.

Brief Answer:
Capsule omez, high fiber diet

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query.
As you have mentioned that your EKG and CBC is normal, your symptom might be due to GERD.
Presently I would suggest you to avoid spicy food, alcohol, and smoking.

Eat bland diet, eat diet rich in fibres diet, avoid meat for few days, do not lie down immediately after food, walk for 15 minutes post food. Eat small amount food. Avoid a lifestyle in which you sit in one place for long. Make sure you move around and have at least a 30-minute walk as part of your daily exercise
I would suggest you to take capsule omeprazole 20 mg twice daily 1/2 hour before food for 1 week. You can take over the counter antacid three times a day. You can take probiotic like sporolac or ecobion, and curd which will be beneficial. Kindly follow the measures for 15 days, your symptom should subside.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Thank you for the detailed suggestions. The pain actually has been moving from beneath my lower left rib to the middle or top of it. Does GERD cause shortness of breath? Thank uou.
