I have a small, soft bump on my labia majora which my GP said was the result of a sebaceous blockage. It's about the size of a pimple and red, but it doesn't hurt, isn't hard and doesn't seem to secrete anything, unlike like the descriptions of sebaceous cysts I've read about online. She told me there wasn't anything she could do to get rid of it, and told me putting vaseline on it might help. I know that it's not at all detrimental to my well-being, but it's rather unsightly and I'm worried it will never go away. I've tried numerous "treatments" I've discovered online, but nothing has helped. It's been there for probably a couple years or so, and it has shown no signs of getting any smaller. I'm very, very embarrassed about it - I don't want to have to worry about explaining what the awkward red bump is to anyone. I will do anything to get rid of it but I have no idea where to start. Will a doctor agree to remove it for me even though it poses no threat to my health? And if so, what kind of doctor should I go to? I'm in Canada, if that makes a difference.
