Could The Pain In The Wrist Is A Nerve Issue Having Broken The Wrist Bones Few Years Ago?

Hi, I am 16 years old and about 5-6 years ago I broke my arm. The break was at my wrist and I broke both bones. During the healing process I had a few issues of my arm almost growing wrong but it was solved. But in all the time that it has been healed I have felt extreme pain in my arm and sometimes it locks up where I can t move it. The pain is always present though and sometimes I can ignore it and other times I can t. The pain will stretch to other parts of my arm and in order to somewhat, it doesn t always work, relieve the pain I must twist my arm and every single time it makes a loud crack. I need to know if my arm is just going through normal issues after broken bones or if it is a nerve issue, or possible one, that I should go talk to my doctor about looking at. I just want the pain to stop. Please help.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.

Persistent pain in your wrist could be de to compression of nerve. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. You may get the X-ray/MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
