Welcome to Health Care Magic
See an Internist / get yourself examined / at times, basic investigation may be necessary...
Get the sputum examined…
If the duration is long, X-ray chest may be necessary
Coloured sputum may mean infection and the need for antibiotic…
Pinch nose for 3-4 minutes to stop bleed, make sure child breathes from mouth, and make him sit up for cough start antibiotic syrup as amoxycillin and expectorant as bromhexine. Try and visit a paediatrician if child has fever, has trouble in sleeping or if cough produces coloured sputum.
Thanks for contacting healthcaremagic. If it is associated with sputum and fever, then you need a course of antibiotics. And if it is chronic get a chest x-ray to rule out any other possibilities.
