PTB means "Pulmonary Tuberculosis"
Is minimal ptb a serious illness? Does he need to stop from working?
Pulmonary tuberculosis should be treated. There is nothing called Minimal PTB.
What do you mean by left infrahilar pneumonia versus PTB
Thanks for writing to HCM
Pneumonia can be due to bacteria or virus and less commonly due to fungus or parasites whereas PTB is due to mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Bacterial pneumonia generally resolves within 5-7 days with antibiotics whereas viral and fungal causes need antiviral and antifungal treatment respectively.
PTB need anti T.B treatment and it needs treatment for 6-9 months.
