What Is The Cause Of An Eye Irritation?

Hi. I am a 25 year old female who suffers from moderate to severe nasal allergies. I have been on weekly allergy shots for 3 years now and just within the past month, I have been waking up with swollen, itchy eyes. The skin all around my orbital area also gets really red, irritated, and dry. This swelling does not occur every night, but at least twice a week. I have not been able to pinpoint any new allergen that may be in my bedroom. Do you have any suggestions about finding what is causing my eye irritation?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having eye irritation. Since you have mentioned about nasal allergies this can be because of allergy of the eyes in the form of allergic conjunctivitis or allergic blepharoconjunctivitis.
Most of the times the allergen cannot be made out and treatment is done by use of anti allergic eye drops like olopatadine and low potent steroids and anti-allergic drugs like cetrizine.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
