Yellowish Vaginal Discharge. Negative Swab Test Results. Any Ideas?

I have a light green/yellowish vaginal discharge with no smell. I went to see the doctor and she ran some tests with the swab and it came back negative. She asked me if I had sex within the past three months, I said no. So with the test results on the culture swab being negative and no conclusive answers I'm not sure why I have these symptoms. I'm in no pain, I just want to know why the change?

Dear Friend
Thanks for your query to Healthcare Magic

I read your concern and your symptom of Slight green /yellow is of normal variaion in healthy people... It is not abnormal .. Slight variation can occur sometimes by body due to emotional stress or medications .
There is nothing to be worried as your symptom of yellow discharge is not associated with pain or bad odour . Therefore it is quite normal.

...Stay healthy; eat well, get enough sleep, drink enough fluids.
...Keep vaginal area clean and dry.
...Wear cotton underwear.
...Wipe from front to back after urination or bowel movement.
...Avoid using deodorant pads or tampons.
...Don't use petroleum jelly or other oils for lubricants.
...Use metronidazole as long as directed.
...During an infection, use pads rather than tampons if menstruation occurs.
...Avoid vulvo/vaginal irritants, including perfumed or deodorant soaps/body washes.

Hope this is useful.
Regards
