Worsening Pityriasis Rosea On Arms, Stomach, Chest, Legs And Genital Area

I have just been diagnosed with pityriasis rosea just 2 days ago and had it for about a week. It's on my arms, stomach, chest, back, legs and genital area. It's worse in the legs and genital area. It itches a lot. At first they were bumpy but now they are flat, dry and scaly. Is this a good sign that it's going away?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query.

P. Roseae is a reactive condition with unknown etiology.

Usually it is self limiting.

The lesions disappear in two weeks.

For faster relief you can apply a mild steroid like desonide lotion in night and take anti histamine tablets.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
