Wisdom Tooth And Molar Tooth Removed, Received Stitches, Chunk Of Gum Hanging. What Should I Do?
i had my upper right wisdom and molar teeth removed 2 days ago and recieved 2 stitches to close the wound. i woke up today and i have a large chunk of my gum or skin hanging from the extraction site. iam not sure if my stitches ripped or if this is normal but it definatly does not look or feel right. my dentist isn't in the office til friday what should i do?
Hi, It seems that this might be slough and some induration caused due to procedure. I think one antibiotic cover medicine might be prescribed. If not go for antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine after consulting your doctor. Take light and liquid food. Ok and take care.
Don't panic only the sutures have come out from flap ,that's the reason you feel gum or skin hanging from extraction site.Don't try to touch it might turn into dry socket .
Follow the post operative instructions as well as take your medications that was recommended to you by your dentist.
Rinse your mouth with saltwater after every meal.
Brushing & flossing your teeth gently, careful not to touch the wound.
