Will I Get Cancer If I Do Not Take Prometrium Correctly As Prescribed?
I have had vaginal dryness and difficulty sleeping. I have been prescribed Prometrium to take 200 mg one tablet for 10 days along with a small amount of Estrace which I am to use 3 times a week. After the 10 days of Prometrium, I am off of it for 6 months. The PA said if I do not take the Prometrium correctly it could cause cancer. Is this true?? Seems like a large dose then nothing for 6 months.

Hello!
You should take and Prometrium to oppose the effects of estrogen(estrace) in the endometrium because the use of only estrogen can cause endometrial hyperplasia that is precusor form of endometrial cancer.
But this happen from the long use of only estrace.
