Will Frequent Urination Stop With Medicines Prescribed For Bladder Infection Or Prostatitis?
Will over urinating start to subside if anti biotic effective in treating bladder infection , or prostatitis ? I have been voiding over 35 times a day for last 10 days.Have been on Cipro for 5 days now and no change. Getting a little worn out :( have been diagnosed with BPH and have been controlling it with Avodart and Flomax till this episode began.

Polyuria or frequent urination has a number of causes and should be investigated properly to know the exact cause in your case.
Some common causes include :-
1. Diabetes
2. Drinking excessive fluids
3. Cold enviornment
4. Infection of the urinary tract
5. Psychogenic
6. Usage of diuretics
You should get yourself investigated for Blood sugar (Fasting and PP) and also get your urine examined for Routine/Microscopic and Culture/senstivity.
Antibiotic can be taken if urine examination indicates pus cells and antibiotic can be selected according to the culture/senstivity report.
If your problem persists, get yourself examined by your urologist.

Thanks for your query.Based on the fact that you have posted it appears that you have benign Protatic Hypertrophy with secondary UTI. You are already on drugs like Flomax and Avodart.for BEP .
Please get your urine culture and sensitivity done to find out the organism causing the infection and antibiotic to which they are sensitive to.It will help you to control the infection and will ensure speedy recovery.
Please take urinary antispasmodics like Oxybutinine or Solifenacin in addition to all the drugs that you are taking now See your family Physician.to get prescription of these drugs.
