Will Discontinuing Chlordiazepoxide Cause Both Alcohol And Drug Withdrawal Symptoms?
i statred taking chlordiazepoxide for alcohol withdraw about 36 hrs ago 36 hrs ago is also when i had my last drink. i take 2, 25 mg tablets every 4 hrs. i have enough left untill 4:00pm tomorrow. my question is when i stop taking this drug, will i have withdraw symptoms from the drug, and will i still have withdraw syptoms from the alcohol?
the way it is supposed to go, is stopping alcohol, then starting the withdrawal medication when there is actual withdrawal (mostly 1-3 days post drink, but sometimes a week after). Staying on the withdrawal meds for a few days until it is gone. Covering first 2 days after alcohol.... works for many....cannot say in your particular case. Withdrawal is categorized by physical symptoms (agitation, increased pulse and sweats, can lead to seizures even fatal ones). and mental ones (hallucinations).
