Will Echinacea Cause Heartburn?

I am taking sodium valporate for migraine and in the past week have stared taking echinacea for a cold. Since starting the echinacea I have been suffering with heartburn, I don t know if it is a coincidence but is there a contra-indication I don t know about?

Yes, it may cause heartburn. Echinacea is an alternative medicine (herb) commonly used for the symptomatic relief of common cold and respiratory tract infections.

Its common side effects include nausea, heartburn, vomiting, altered taste, stomach pain and diarrhea. You should not take it if you have stomach acidity issues like gastritis or reflux disease.
