i have a question. I had sex on the 8th of march 2009 i started having some bleeding but it only lasted two days. I went to the doctor on april 13 and he told me i was pregnant and that my due date was novemeber 24 i did not have the baby on the 24th of november but on the 11th of dec after my labor had to be induced. My last period was around feb 16 of 17 can you tell me when i got pregnant and if there could have been a mistake in my due date . by the way i had 3 ultrasound and none change the due day
The pregnancy is 280 days duration from the last missed period. By ultrasound, the due date is calculated by the age of the baby which is assessed by its different measurements.
Delivery anytime between 3 wears earlier to and 1 week later than the expected DD is considered as within normal range. However, you had almost 3 weeks delayed delivery; that too after induction. It seems that your uterus was not responding to the hormonalchanges in your body at full term.
After 43 weeks, if you have got a live healthy baby, you should consider yourself lucky. At that stage, usually the chances of loosing baby are very high.
Though the possibility of mistaken dates may be considered, your dates were confirmed by different methods.
I hope this satisfies you.
