Why Is The Sugar Level High After Lunch In A Gestational Diabetes Patient Who Is Pregnant?
Hi ... I am 33 years old, in the 8th month of pregnancy, this is my second baby and in 7th month I was diagnosed gestational diabetes. My doctor has told me to measure sugar level 4 times daily (Before Breakfast, After Breakfast, After Lunch and After Dinner - 1 hour after a major meal). My all the sugar levels are under control except after lunch is on higher side sometimes it goes 164. I am also taking Glucophage 500 mg before lunch. Can you please advise why only after lunch is on the little higher side. Will this affects to my baby and will lead to C-section. I am very worried. Also my first pregnancy was normal and I had no problem in my first pregnancy.
dear madam i got your problem and understand your concern.usually lunch will be little major food in our day may be in my opinion your calories in the day are not properly distributed.my question is are you following diet plan or not.if no i advise to take up advise of a die expert for gestational diabetes.next best thing is you can split your lunch so that you can avoid this kind of raised blood sugar after lunch.sugar estimation is advisable to do 1.5 hr or 2 hrs after meal but not 1 hr.dont worry about c section as first baby is normal delivery you are having more chances of normal delivery....relax do walking also regards
