Why Is Cesarean Needed Even When The Woman Has Normal BP?

My wife is 90 Kgs weight, age 29, height 167 cms, AB+ blood, had a ceaserian in Dec 2007 for the first delivery (who was healthy). Now she is in 37th week of pregnancy of the 2nd baby, with normal BP, HB of 13, normal sugar and sonography normal on 23-04-2011. But the Gynac is pressing continiously for caeserian delivery and asking to get admitted. The reason for this is not clear since all parameters are normal. Normal delivery pains have not started yet nor is there any discharge. Due date as per LMP is 18-05-2011 and as per sonography it is 14-05-2011. We personally want to try for normal delivery and of course, caeserian if absolutely required. But going for caesrian, without giving normal delivery a chance does not appeal to my mind. Why do gynecs nowadays dont even allow the process of normal delivery to occur, even when there are no complications? I would like to know what I should do...try for normal delivery or go for caesarian.

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the vaginal delivery needs various factors like the pelvis should be adequate for the baby .And the labour should progress in a proper way.The problem in case of previous caesarian is scar on the uterus. This scar might rupture during the uterine contractions rarely. So the vaginal delivery is to be done under constant supervision taking utmost care. And it is practised only in a few institutions.
