Why Does My Thumb Nail Keep Swelling With Some Discharge?
I keep getting a swelling at the nail base on my thumb it does not hurt and if I piece it with a needle a clear sticky liquid comes out and the nail goes back flat. The base of nail is very soft and after a while the liquid builds up again. Can you help please

Hi,
It seems to be paronychia which is inflammation of the nail folds. I would recommend you to keep your hands dry, apply topical antibiotic like neosporin ointment on the affected area and take oral antibiotic like tablet cephalexin. This should improve it.
