Why Do I Have Stiffness, Discomfort And Difficulty In Swallowing?

Just wanted to make sure that the stiffness, discomfort and difficult swallowing on the left side of my neck in the area of the pulse in the carotid artery does not have anything to do with the artery. I was putting nose drops in with my head tipped back and the pain occurred as I was bringing my head back to neutral position.
