hi healthcare magic user, Personally I feel decision for whether to go for cesarian or normal vaginal delivery depends on multiple factors like baby weight, size of pelvis, obstetric examination. pervaginal examination for favorable cervix. head size of the baby, presentation and position of the baby.
In your case situation could be due to post date amniotic fluid levels could be on the lower side, high risk to have normal vaginal delivery due to high risk for fetal distress.
in addition to that vaginal examination could not be favorable for vaginal delivery.
