I am 3.5 weeks late for my period. My breasts are sore, sometimes little drops of white stuff comes out in the shower, I am nauseous sometimes or I have heartburn. I am always tired now. I took a pregnancy test 2.5 weeks ago and it was negative. Could I be pregnant?
Hello and welcome to HCM, I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
It seems from your history that you may have a hormonal disturbance most likely hyperprolactinemia. In this the blood levels of prolactin hormone increase. This hormone is responsible for milk production in the body. So the white stuff is most likely milk.
Other reason may be pregnancy as you have taken the test very early. So please repeat the test. If still negative get tested for hormonal dysfunction.
Do not worry a this is not uncommon and can be treated by drugs like bromocriptine.
Please get an examination by a gynecologist or an endocrinologist for the cause of hyperprolactinemia and then start treatment.
Hope this was helpful. Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help. Thanks for using HCM. Have a good day. Dr Nilajkumar Bagde Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology
