Why Am I Having Pregnancy Symptoms But Not Pregnant?

Hello, I gave birth nearly two years ago. During the pregnancy, I experienced severe nausea every morning at about 11am. It was so sudden that I had to lay down or I felt I was going to pass out. I later found out it may have been caused by the prenatal vitamins. Now, I am not taking these vitamins, I am not pregnant, and yet I am experiencing the same symptoms every month usually one or two days after my period. It s very uncomfortable especially when I am with my daughter or at work. My hands start sweating, I feel weak like I will pass out, my heart starts beating faster. Then it goes away and comes back at some point during the day. Any thought on how I can prevent this? Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

By altering the food habits you can decrease your symptoms to some extent. That you have to take some milk or a dry food like biscuits within 1 hour after waking up and also you have to take some food in every 2 to 3 hours. If the symptoms persist better to undergo investigations like thyroid profile, Corticosteroids level etc which can help in finding out the other possible causes of this type of symptoms. So, better to consult general physician once get examined and take treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
