Hi,

Usually beta HCG injection to induce the ovulation is given when the dominant follicle reaches around 2 cm size. So you have received the injection at the correct time.

After taking the injection the ovum is expected to release in around 24 to 36 hours. After ovulation the ovum lives for 12 to 24 hours in the body. So, maybe because of that your doctor might have advised IUI around 36 hours of taking the injection.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
