What To Do To Get Rid Of Rough, Dark Skin On The Upper Lip After Waxing And Sun Exposure?

Hi, I waxed my upper lip nearly a week ago. After that I have been experiencing rough skin on my upper lip which started to peel later. I have been applying olive oil as well as Vaseline. However, I was out under the sun for around 6 hours on my school picnic. The next the areas which appeared red got all dark and brownish. Now it really looks ugly and what should I do to get rid of it as soon as possible?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

You seem to have burnt your skin. I would recommend you to apply hydroquinone 2 percent cream on the affected area at night along with application of a broad spectrum sunscreen on the entire face during the day time for 2-3 weeks. This will help in reducing the mark.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
