What Should Be Done To Ease The Chest Congestion Of A 10 Year Old Child Having Asthma?

Hello. My 10 year old son has had a chesty sounding cough for 4 days without improving. The Gp has ruled out infection and said its a virus. He just can't clear the congestion. He is asthmatic. We're using chesty cough mixture amd steam. Sudafed was working but he had a big nosebleed this morning. Is there anything else we can give him to ease the congestion? x

Hi,
From history it seems that along with viral infection he might be having bacterial infection as well so congestion is not improving.
He might require one course of antibiotic for3-5 days for improvement and to prevent complications.
Ok and take care.
