General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is important that your cough is temporarily stopped. A syrup known as an antitussive will help stop your cough. Any over the counter cough syrup containing dextromethorphan can be used. Additionally, take an antihistamine like Cetirizine. It will help clear your nasal secretions.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
