Formula feed is considered as a partial substitute to breast milk.It is prepared from animal milk (mostly cow,but goat milk and soya milk are also used). The nutrients in the breast milk are almost completely absorbed than formula milk.Breast milk is always the best for the baby over formula milk anytime but certain times breast milk does not suit babies due to some kind of malabsorption hence they have to switch over formula. There are different types of formula feeds so the nutritive values and properties will differ .If you specify the name of the formula feed I will be able to answer you elaborately on your question
