HELLO DOCTOR, I HAVE MULTIPLE SMALL FIBROIDS.THE REPORTS ARE AS FOLLOWS.The uterus is retro-verted. It has an altered axis and it is deviated to the right. It measures 7.7 x 3.8 x 5.7 cm. The uterine myometrial echo-pattern is mildly in-homogenous. Multiple, small fibroids are seen. A27*19mm sized, intra-mural fibroid is seen in the right antero-lateral portion of the uterine body. A 19*17 mm sized, intra-mural fibroid is seen in the right antero-lateral portion of the fundocorporal region. A30*21mm sized, sub-serosal fibroid is seen in the right cornual region. A 19*12mm sized, sub-serosal fibroid is seen in the anterior wall of the lower uterine body. A8*6 mm sized, intra-mural fibroid is seen in the anterior wall of the cervico-corporal region. A8*6 mm sized, intra-mural fibroid is seen in the posterior wall of the lower uterine body. A15 x 10 mm sized, intra-mural fibroid is seen in the posterior wall of the uterine body, on the left side. A 11 x 9 mm sized, intra-mural fibroid is seen in the fundic region. The Endometrial thickness is 10-11 mm. The uterine cavity appears normal shaped and regular on 3D coronal view. No evidence bf any endometrial polyp or any extrinsic mass effect on the endometrial lining is seen. Both ovaries reveal presence of multiple follicles. The right ovary is located posteriorly. I HAVE GONE THROUGH IVF PROCEDURE BUT AFTER CONCEPTION IN SECOND MONTH ONLY I MET WITH MISCARRIAGE.I WANT TO KNOW THE EXACT REASON OF MISCARRIAGE.AND NOW WHAT TYPE OF TREATMENT SHOULD I TAKE.MY AGE IS 33.PL GUIDE

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The ultrasound report suggests presence of multiple fibroids in the uterine cavity.
Fibare benign lesions arising from the myometrium.
The multiple fibroids are present over the surface of the uterus and in the wall.
The uterus is enlarged but the endometrial cavity is within normal limits.
The fibroids are asymptomatic in majority of cases.
In symptomatic cases, they most commonly present with menstrual irregularities.
Implantation of the fertilized ovum can be affected by presence of multiple fibroids.
Multiple follicles in ovaries could be due polycystic ovaries.

You need to consult your gynecologist for both these problems.
In case the fibroids are interfering with implantation, you can get myomectomy done.
Myomectomy is the procedure wherein the muscle layer and the fibroids are surgically removed.
Conception can take place even after myomectomy.
However, there can be other causes for miscarriage.
The cause of the previous miscarriage should be known so that the risk factor can be avoided in future pregnancy.
Fibroids may be the risk factor, however, investigations need to be done.

Thanks and take care
