What Is Your Opinion About Surgery For Removing Boil On Eyelid After Trying Antibiotics, Eyedrops And Ointment?
I got a hot boil on my left eyelid a month back or so. It is not paining but visible like a ball on my eyelid when it is closed. I consulted a GP and he advised me to go for a surgery. After that I've consulted an opthologist who gave me some antibiotics and some eye drops & an ointment for a five day course. I've used all that medicine but still the issue remains. When again I consulted her today, she asked me to go for a surgery.
My question, is it the right approach to for a surgery? What is the surgery look like and is there any alternate for surgery?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having boil or stye of the left eyelid. Since it is of more than 1 month duration and it has not responded to treatment with antibiotics, it requires a surgical procedure in the form of incision and drainage. It is a very simple surgical procedure which can be done in out patient department as a simple office procedure. You can undergo the procedure, there is no need to worry.
Thank you
