What Is The Treatment Of Severe Headache ?

My mom has been suffering from a severe headache, numbness in her left arm, left calf, and left side of her head. She was taken to the ER and given a cat scan(shows nothing), 2 EKG (shows nothing), 3 blood tests (shows nothing) and finally an MRI. The MRI shows gray shadows on her brain. After 6 hours, the ER dr. said there were no signs of stroke. She still has a severe headache and numbness comes and goes. She s supposed to go to a neurologist Thursday, but I m afraid something else is happening. The dr. Stated the possibility of MS. What are your thoughts. I would greatly appreciate your response. Thanks, Concerned daughter

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your mother's symptoms and the MRI brain findings.

The most likely diagnostic possibility is TIA- transient ischemic attacks or minor brain strokes.

This occurs due to lack of blood flow to brain.

She would require anti-platelets and statins to reduce the risk of brain strokes in the future.

If possible, please upload the MRI report.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

Best wishes,
