What Is The Treatment For Nausea And Ulcers In A Pregnant Heroin Addict Woman?

I have a niece who is 6 months pregnant and is a heroin addict. We re trying to get her some pre-natal care next week, but she s not being honest with us about the extent of her addiction. Just in the three days she s been living with us, she s experienced nausia, cramps, and has boils and ulcers on her stomach. What to do?

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

The symptoms that she is experiencing are probably related to heroin withdrawal. This would fit with coming to live with you and likely getting her out of a situation where she was using. The problem in pregnancy is that withdrawal is potentially very dangerous to the fetus. In addition, the boils and ulcers on her stomach are related to a skin infection that needs immediate attention. She needs to be take to the hospital IMMEDIATELY.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
