What Is The Treatment For Lingual Thyroid?
i have neck pain since 1 month and radiating pain to left hand i gone for MRI it shows c4 vertebrae erosion lesion compressing the nerve root i have incedently found lingual thyroid can u suggest further treatment i m 48yrs old male 67 kg weight 5ft 8inch hight

Lingual thyroid may be the sole or say only thyroid tissue in your body. You need to confirm simply by sonography of neck which may reveal is the thyroid is in its original place below Adam's apple or not.
If it doesn't reveal any thyroid tissue in neck. You don't have option but to keep living with lingual thyroid. Just for the sake of safer side have thyroid hormone levels checke at least once.
Thyroid is a very important tissue / endocrine gland which regulates the body metabolism. So if everyting is normal and your thyroid at tongue base don't cause any problem in throat, rest assured nothing will happen till it behaves normal.
