What Is The Treatment For Heart Murmur In A Child?

my grandson has a heart murmur and takes albuterol when needed. Today he when to the doctor for a cold in his eye and for his coughing. The doctor said the murmur was very pronounced both sitting and lying down. With any type of murmer, should a 4 year old be taking albuterol? He is scheduled to see a cartiologist Wednesday.

Heart murmur is a sign of diseases affecting heart valves. Albuterol is prescribed to prevent respiratory complications of cardiac condition. An echo test is mandatory to make a diagnosis. Consult a cardiologist and he will direct you accordingly.
