Hello,

As there is complete disruption of the ACL I will advise for the MRI first. Post which it complete disruption is found surgical management will be the advice. If grade 2 injury to ACL than immobilization of the knee, simple static Quadriceps and static hamstring exercises should be followed.

Please take a wise decision it a complete disruption of the ACL is found, as ignorance may lead to early OA changes and may land the knee into major injuries.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
