What Is The Solution For Scar Tissue Caused After Reattaching Retina After An Eye Injury?
My son had a severe eye injury, lost all sight and pressue to a four (that was normally 16) . Retina was detached for two months becuase so much blood in the eye the surgeons could nt see where the retina was. Surgurey was done to reattache the retina and they filled the eye with oil . Eye healed well with the exception of a small scar tissue. They performed surgery 5 weeks later because the pressure went up to 12 (from a 4) and put the gas bubble in. He started to regain some vision in 3 days. One week later from the gas bubble surgery, the pressure has dropped to an 8. The surgeon was very surprised it had dropped so much and had no answers as to why....my son goes back in 3 weeks to check the pressure again. Does the pressure drop that much after putting the gas bubble in???
HI Thank for asking to HCM The scar tissue get detached it self once the wound healed, second the pressure inside the eye is due to the aqueous humor and this is get absorbs and fills in it same time with maintaining intraocular pressure, but if it fills with gas then it may get absorb and the pressure reduces unless it fills again with gas or liquid, I hope this could be your answer have nice day.
