What Is The Recovery Time After Hysterectomy, Removal Of Ovaries And Tubes Due To Pre Cancer Of Uterus?
I m being scheduled for a hysterectomy to include removal of ovaries and tubes next week. I have been told it would be done with a robot. I know they are supposed to cut 5 small slits in my stomach in which they will go through with the robot to snip everything loose and then they will be removing everything from the vagina. I also know they expect to take approximately 2 hours for the surgery. I don t know anything else at this time. I am wondering about recovery time and expected hospital stay as well as what else they will probably be doing during the surgery. I am having the surgery because I have developed pre cancer of the uterus after being put on Tamoxifen and having a bi-lateral mastectomy for breast cancer.
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. Good you collected a good amount of information, regarding the surgery. When you have a precancer of the uterus,i think it will be wise to have an open surgery, to have a look at the other structures, and their condition. To exclude any metastasis, in the nearby glands. It appears to have developed after using the tamoxifen, so you are expected to stop it to prevent any further flare ups in surrounding tissues. Wishing you a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
