I've had this cold for about a week now and just when I thought I was getting better again I started to feel pain in my left ear. My left ear hurts very much and I it has also started pounding. The ear also feels like it is blocked because my hearing is slightly diminished in that ear.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sharp ear pain after getting infected with cold which could be due to ear infection. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin you are not allergic to it along with Ibuprofen and Loratadine. Put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. Take proper rest. Try to avoid excessive use of mobile as it will put more pressure. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis. Get all the lab tests done for proper examination.
