What Is The Medication For Tonsillitis While Having Fever?

hi! my 10-year-old niece began having fever 3 days ago, Tmax 39.5 degrees C. She has enlarged tonsils but they are not red, with some whitish plaque on them. She's been complaining of pain when swallowing, some headache, and fatigue. The last time she had fever was about a month ago, that time with red swollen tonsils. She was given paracetamol for the fever and pain, and cephalexin as antibiotic. These tonsillitis episodes have been coming and going since she was just 5 years old. What would be the best thing to do? thank u.

Thanks for the query.
Treatment for tonsillitis depends on whether it is caused by a virus or by a bacteria like group A streptococcus bacteria. Doctors usually can't tell the difference just by looking at the tonsils, but can detect strep bacteria with a rapid strep test or a throat culture.
For repeated infection tonsillectomy to remove the tonsils is the ultimate solution.
Also avoid cold, sour things.
