What Is The Meaning Of The MRI Result?

My MRI of my right shoulder says: LABRUM AND CAPSULAR STRUCTURES: The labrum is not firmly attached to the glenoid at the anterosuperior quadrant, consistent with an anatomic variant. Superior sub labral sulcus is apparent as seen on PD FSE coronal slice #10. What does that mean?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of the MRI report is as follows:
The arm bone or humerus has a ball like structure at its upper end.
This ball like structure fits into the socket formed by the scapula, one of the bones of shoulder girdle.
The ball of the humerus is attached to the socket with labrum.
Labrum is a cartilaginous structure which firmly holds the two structures together.
The MRI report suggests that the labrum is loosely attached to the bony structures.
This is not a pathological condition but this is a structural anomaly.
It can lead to symptoms of dislocation of the shoulder joint.
You need to consult your orthopedician for further management.

Thanks and take care
