What Is The Maximum Daily Dose Of Trophic Brand Liquid Iodine?

I bought Trophic brand Liquid Iodine (each millilitre contains potassium iodide and pure iodine-14.2 mg) or (each drop contains 640mcg) What is my max daily dose (drops) to protect against radiation and should this increase or decrease depending on enviroment? I ve heard that the Japanese diet contains 12-13 mg of iodine each day. Is that the same as taking 12-13 mg worth of these drops per day? (about 19 drops per day)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
The issue is why are you taking iodine? It is prescribed for low iodine in food and that leads to low thyroid function. What would perhaps help answer the questiion is to get your thyroid function tests. If the T4, T3 and TSH are normal u need NOT take iodine. However, it is not to be taken if u r pregnant. It can lead to increase in the size of the thyroid. So let us know why u r taking it and the Thyroid function tests and then can help u better.
